Burn treatment informations
A burn is a break in the skin, and the risk of infection exists both at the site of the injury and potentially throughout the body. Antibiotic creams can prevent or be an effective burn treatment. The extent of the burn will indicate whether shock is likely to develop, as tissue fluid (serum) leaks from the burned area and is replenished by fluids from the circulatory system. Dermis is made up of collagen and elastic fibers and where nerves, blood vessels, sweat glands, and hair follicles reside. If rescue personnel have advanced life support capability and transport time may be prolonged, these treatments are complemented by intravenous (IV) fluid administration.
